I loved being a Music Specialist for Musically Yours.  I got to teach Music Literacy classes to babies through elementary age children.  Through an amazing curriculum of early childhood games and songs, their ears are trained, they learn social skills, rhythms and how to read music while having fun!  After teaching piano and voice lessons, I know how helpful this is to children to, at the least, expose them to music so they can apply it later if they so choose.  But even more than this, we all know music is brain power.  But it's not just through listening to music.  It is through actually reading music and being involved in the creating of music that the brain can work more quickly.  It also helps social skills and confidence. Musical integration helps in learning any subject, helping the brain remember it even better.  This is a quick summary of a just a few of the things music can do.  The most amazing part of music is how powerfully it can effect people like nothing else can and that is why I will always be involved with music, through listening, learning, teaching or performing.   MusicPreludes.com
